Protesters against police brutality and corruption have blocked the Abuja International Airport Road.
The agitators took to the Abuja streets in defiance of the order issued Thursday by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Security Committee, banning people from protesting on the streets to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in the FCT.
The youth barricaded the Abuja city gate and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Road, preventing vehicular movement.
The crowd, which had continued to increase by day, vowed not relent on their demands for a country where the system works for every citizen.
The youth also displayed a banner containing the photographs of victims of police brutality in the country.
The blockade has led to heavy traffic jam in the area as motorists were forced to take alternative routes.
