Motorists and passengers on Tuesday has been set on standstill as Protester against the disbanded police Special Anti – Robbery Squad (SARs) mount gridlock on the Lagos – Ibadan Expressway.
This development have subjected both residents and travellers to serious hardship as they were stranded for hours on the roads.
Some of the areas affected include: the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway at the Mowe axis, Sagamu interchange, Presidential Boulevard, Oke-Mosan, Panseke, Camp-Osiele, Owode-Yewa, Ilaro road, Ado-Odo road, Sango and Papalanto roads all in the state.
According to Reports the gridlock affected both lanes of the expressway.
Some passengers, who could not bear the pain of the gridlock took out their luggages and made their way back home.
The #EndSars protesters consisting of mainly youths, has been agitating for a reform for the past 13 days, Their protest goes beyond police brutality. It is an outflow of pent up anger about how Nigeria has been mismanaged over the years.
The #EndSARS campaign became the Number one trending topic on social media worldwide. Governments and embassies joined the protest, calling on the Nigerian government to address the grievances of its angry citizens.
