ASUU and SSANU members at the Ekiti State University have staged a protest in the university campus expressing their dissatisfaction over the neglect from the state government and the university management.
The protesters filled the campus early morning on Monday distorting activities.

They were singing solidarity songs and vowed to continue the protest until their demands are met.
The unions’ demands include payment of 3 months salary arrears dated 2018, six years of earned academic allowances and unremitted cooperative deductions among other demands.
They promised to make the state ungovernable as long as their demands are ignored by concerned authorities.

However, the Special Adviser to Governor Kayode Fayemi on Tertiary Education, Mr. Sikiru Eniola pleaded with the protesters to embrace dialogue and also find alternative funding channels in the face of dwindling revenue.
He said the problem started with the immediate part administration which employed more than necessary.
