Ekiti State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed the appointment of Justice Oyewole Adeyeye as substantive Chief Judge of Ekiti State.
The confirmation was a fallout of the presentation of the report of the House Committee on legal Matters that had earlier screened the former acting Chief Judge.

The Chairman of the Committee, Hon Tajudeen Akingbolu who presented his report at plenary, observed that the nominee was found worthy during interface.
He added that the Committee recommend his confirmation.
The report was adopted by the lawmakers, leading to the confirmation of Justice Adeyeye as substantive Chief Judge of the state.
Earlier, the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Funminiyi Afuye read two letters from the State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi on the confirmation of the chief Judge and the 2021 revised appropriation bill.
At the plenary, the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Rt Hon Hakeem Jamiu drew the attention of the House to influx of trucks on Ekiti roads which according to him had led to the destruction of the roads.
He called on the House to impress it on the Works Ministry to do the needful by erecting barricades on the roads to check the influx.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Rt Hon Funminiyi Afuye reacted by calling for the invitation of the state Commissioner for Works for an interface on the way forward.
Hon Lateef Akanle, representing Ekiti East constituency II also drew the attention of the House to the nefarious activities of kidnappers in Ekiti and called on the House to impress it on appropriate agencies on the need to check the trend.
Also, Hon. Olatunji Joseph, representing Ekiti South West II informed the House of the demise of the Ologotun of Ogotun Ekiti, who joined his ancestors recently.
The Speaker and the entire members commiserated with the lawmaker and the entire people of Ogotun Ekiti and prayed that the Almighty God grant the monarch eternal rest.
