The Department of State Services (DSS) has denied speculations suggesting that it apprehended the Special Adviser on media to Governor Ganduje of Kano State, Salihu Tanko Yakasai.
Following the abduction of over 300 girls from a school in Zamfara on Friday, Yakasai had taken to his Twitter page to excoriate the Buhari-led administration over its ineptitude to address the perennial insecurity that ravages the country.

He also criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the party at all levels has failed Nigerians.
Rattled by the criticism of Yakasai, which further serves to undermine the legitimacy of the present administration and underscore how unpopular it has become even among its party members, the police apprehended the Kano State governor’s media aide.
His arrest was not immediately announced, an action which spurred his unsettled friends to take to social media to raise concerns about his whereabouts on Saturday morning.

Reacting to the reports, DSS Director Kano state, Muhammad Alhassan, however, has said they did not arrest nor invited Yakasai for interrogation.
“We have not arrested or even invited Salihu, don’t forget he is our friend, sometimes, he advises us on issues of critical Security situations in Kano,” Alhassan said.
