An Unubi High Chief and native doctor, Chief Chukwujekwu Onuorah, alias “Egbe-Ejiejeogu” has been arrested by the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in connection with the kidnap and murder of a lawmaker in Anambra’ state.

Chief Onuorah who hails from Unubi in Nnewi South local government area was arrested by the DSS operatives at a private clinic in Awka the state capital on Saturday.
He was said to be receiving treatment at the clinic following gunshot wounds he sustained after weeklong efforts to track him down since the gruesome murder of Hon. Okechukwu Okoye.
His arrest was said to be linked with violent crimes, particularly, the kidnap and beheading of the lawmaker representing Aguata constituency in the state House of Assembly Hon Okechukwu Okoye who was found beheaded after his kidnap alongside his aide Mr. Cyril Chiegboka on May 15th 2022.

This is as members of the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law, (Intersociety) on Wednesday, commended the Director of State Services, over the arrest of the suspects allegedly involved in the kidnapping and beheading of Okoye.
InterSociety described the feat by the DSS as the fastest arrests in recent times in connection with violent crimes.”
The interSociety in a statement by Comrade Emeka Umeagbalasi, alongside Barr Obianuju Igboeli, and Barr Chidimma Udegbunam, stated this in a statement issued to newsmen in Owerri.
According to Intersociety, “An Unubi High Chief and malevolent herbalist, Chief Chukwujekwu Onuorah, alias “Egbe-Ejiejeogu” has been arrested by the operatives of Anambra State DSS Directorate.
“His arrest is one of the high profile and intelligence and technology-powered and fastest arrests in recent times in connection with violent crimes.
“The arrested kingpin is the blood brother of revered Queen and Founder of the Famous Egedege Cultural Dance, the 80 years old Queen Theresa Onuorah of Unubi in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State.”
“Intersociety had in its statement of 26th May 2022 (Killing of Northern Muslim Mother and her Children in Anambra) independently disclosed the arrest of “some soft targets” (an Okada rider and an automobile mechanic) over the dastardly act and named Unubi at the location of the scene of the heinous crime(s).
Intersociety which has been following the development behind the scene through its undercover agents also notes the arrest of the leader (“Omereora” from Nani) of the street criminal gang whose members went on a killing spree two days later, targeting defenceless civilians and their properties including the slain Northern Muslim mother and her children.”
Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, DSP Ikenga Toochukwu confirmed the incident, adding that operations were currently going in the state.
He promised to give details of the operations as soon as relevant information is made available to the command.
“Intersociety hereby gives kudos to Anambra DSS Director, Enoch Pawa and dedicated civilian undercover agents that assisted in achieving the recorded feat. The achieved feat is consistent with our calls on Nigerian security operatives to jettison discriminatory, hate and crude policing or soldiering and embrace “man-mental-machine’ policing or soldiering.”
“It must be pointed out that the use of discriminatory, hate and crude policing or soldiering always brings about bias and false intelligence and law enforcement and has never provided solutions to crime fighting. They, in totality, also aggravate and escalate crimes particularly violent crimes; making them repetitive and their perpetrators repeat offenders.”
Recall that the state Governor Prof Charles Soludo is not treating the battle against criminal elements with kid gloves.
He had offered N10 million reward to anyone with useful information that would lead to the arrest of fleeing suspects over the gruesome murder of the late lawmaker and his aide.
