The lawmaker representing Surulere Constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Desmond Elliot, has apologise for addressing Nigerian youths as children.
According to him, he allowed his emotions to get the best part of him, the reason why he referred to the youths of Nigeria as children in his address.
Adding that he got really angry while looking at the destruction caused by hoodlums in his constituency but ignored the fact that he talked about regulating social media.
Netizens reacting to his apology said it’s too late for that as now they know who he represents in the house as they quiz why he didn’t talk about the social media regulation.
The Nigerian actor cum politician, has come under intense criticisms and attack on social media after he was caught on video during plenary session at the Lagos State House of Assembly, referring to Nigerian youth as ‘Children’, while also calling for the regulation of the social media in the country.
However, the senator Apologized saying; ”I have read your honest feedback& suggestions& I sincerely apologize for addressing the youth as “Children”
”I did not mean to be insensitive with this, it was borne out of the magnitude of destruction&looting of businesses I witnessed when I went on a tour of my constituency.
