The police in edo state have confirmed the death of a lawyer in the state one mister Iyoha Osobaze Omon after his alleged killers were said to have confessed to the crime.
The killers lead the police to the grave where they had buried the victim leaving his body decaying in Benin City the edo state capital.
The command in a statement signed by its officer DSP Chidi Nwabuzor said on Tuesday that the victim’s body was being exhumed by pathologists from the state’s health center for autopsy.
According to the police the command receive the complain from a gentleman (name withheld) on May 7, 2020 that his brother a lawyer aged 41 had been kidnapped by one Osasu Osadolor and his gang members at Evbuomodu Village, Aduwawa in Benin.
It said there after operatives of the anti-kidnapping squad and cybercrime unit immediately took over the case for proper investigation. It also said on May 19 2020 the alleged kidnap kingpin Osadolor, was arrested with a black coloured Lexus 330 Jeep.
The car has a registration number Ben 374cu used in kidnapping the victim. Police operatives of the units were also said to have on May 26 2020 arrested three additional suspects linked to the crime.
The suspects were said to have confessed to beating up the victim and later dropped him somewhere along the old benin Auchi Road Aduwawa.
