Forbes has declared the goal-addicted player Cristiano Ronaldo as Football’s biggest earner and its very first billionaire.
Ronaldo has become the first footballer to earn over $1 billion, according to Forbes, putting him ahead of rival Lionel messi
The 35-year-old forward has earned $105million (£82.6m) before taxes and fees over the past year which sees him occupy fourth spot, behind Kylie jenner Kanye west and Roger Federer, on the 2020 Forbes Celebrity 100.
As stated by Forbes, he is the third athlete to do so while still active, following Tiger Woods and Floyd Mayweather, and the first to do so playing a team sport.
Ronaldo’s Earnings has not only come from his footballing career, the superstar has earned alot of money form Modeling, his CR7 lifestyle brand and a hotel chain, as well as a museum in his native Madeira.
Ronaldo’s earnings took a hit this year as the football star agreed to take a pay cut from his club [Juventus] to help the Italy cope with the effect of the coronavirus pandemic.
