According to her, the WHO has also started a Solidarity Trial to help find treatment for COVID-19. This trial involves the testing of drugs on COVID-19 patients to see if they’ll have positive effects. An example of such drugs is Remdesivir which has been found to be effective in bringing COVID-19 symptoms down.
Dr. Braka said 1200 patients have been tried with likely treatments, and revealed that Nigeria has also indicated interest in the trial.
She said she remains optimistic with the amount of research going on; though no known drug has proved to be effective against the virus a Vaccine will soon be discovered.
