A special prayer for Frontline Health workers has held in Abuja today as a moral booster to the MVPS in an efforts by the government to contain the spread of COVID-19 as it joins millions across the world to mark the Frontliner Day.
The Abuja based Workers say all types of encouraging acts are needed now that the situation is becoming critical every new day as more cases are confirmed by the NCDC.
Speaking in Abuja the Nations Capital today, Director public health of FCTA Dr. Josephine okechukwu said the collective team must be acknowledged for their good work to humanity. She however decried the perception that only NCDC staff are appreciated in the efforts to contain the virus. The MVPs are drawn from: Emergency Response team of public health department of FCTA Which includes: stakesholders like NCDC, WHO, Afrinet, Primary Healthcare ,Volunteers and Support Staff.
These group of frontliner participate in various activities in the fight against covid -19 including
1. Temperature Checks
2. Grassroots sensitation and awareness.(Health educators)
3. Sample collections
4. Contact tracing/Case Investigation
5. Logistic
6. Disinfestation (environmental health officers).
7. Data Analyst
8. Volunteers $ Support Staff
9. Evacuation of Patients
10. Driver , Cleaners.
These according to her are the true heroes as more of them daily face the Risk and Harzards of the Corona Virus.
