The spread of (COVID-19) in Nigeria continues to record a significant increase as the latest statistics provided by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control reveal Nigeria now has 53.317 confirmed cases.
296 new confirmed cases and 1 death were recorded in Nigeria On the 27th of August 2020.
The NCDC reported that 445 patients were discharged following their recovery from the disease.
16 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded new cases on Friday.
Plateau recorded the day’s highest toll with 85 new cases while 46 new cases were reported in Enugu.
Oyo and Lagos followed with 31 and 21 new cases respectively.
Others are Rivers (20), FCT (15), Kaduna (13), Bauchi (12), Delta (11), Ekiti (11), Akwa Ibom (7), Ebonyi (6), Kwara (5), Ogun (4), Osun (4), Gombe (3), and Niger (2).
Since the first covid-19 case was confirmed in Nigeria on February 27, 2020, Nigeria has now recorded 53,317 cases of the disease.
While 40,726 cases have been discharged after their recovery, a total of 1,011 fatalities have been recorded.
There are now 11,580 active cases of COVID-19 across Nigeria.
