Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has imposed a total lockdown on 3 local government areas in the state.
The local councils affected are: Katagum, Giade, and Zaki.
Governor Bala says the step has become importantly necessary for a total lockdown of some local government areas as Bauchi state COVID-19 cases worsen with an additional 20 cases reported as at Monday 11 May 2020.
This is in addition to the existing 44 cases reported yesterday May 10th 2020 where-in 27 cases were reported in Azare Katagum local government area.
The Governor says all the cases stem from community transmission of the virus and the action taken is to halt the spread in its track.
The 10 days lockdown takes effect from 6pm on Tuesday, 12th of May.
