COVID-19: Nigeria Records 574 New Cases As Death Toll Rises To 1,761

Nigeria has recorded 574 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.

This was contained in the daily update of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday night.

According to the centre, 1,816 infected persons recovered in the last 24 hours.

But 8 new fatalities were recorded.

20 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded new cases on Monday.

Kwara State recorded the highest new cases with 98, followed by Lagos with 81 cases.

Also, Edo recorded 59 new cases while Ondo State reported 44 fresh cases.

Others are FCT (41), Kano (34), Ogun (33), Kaduna (29), Osun (28), Enugu (23), Rivers (18), Delta (16), Akwa Ibom (15), Bauchi (12), Imo (10), Borno (8), Niger (8), Kebbi (7), Nasarawa (5) Gombe (3), and Ekiti (2).

So far, a total of 123,009 have recovered from the 146,928 infected persons.

However, 1,761 patients have lost their lives to the disease.

There are now 22,158 active cases across the country.
