The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has gone into self-isolation after coming in contact with the son of Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku’s son has tested positive positive for the virus.
Mr. Ladan Salihu a Senior Official (COS) of the State revealed this via his Twitter handle on Monday saying that the Governor and others flew in the same plane with Atiku’s son. He also confirmed that they’ve since gone into self-isolation after being tested.
According to him, “Our Governor Bala Mohammed is in self-isolation following contact with Atiku Abubakar’s Son. Yes. We were on the same flight from Lagos to Abuja. They shook hands and exchanged pleasantries. The Governor and the rest of us have taken tests. The results will be negative Insha Allah.”
In a statement by the Bauchi State government, through the Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mukhtar Gidado, the airline boarded by the governor and Atiku’s son was identified as Aero Contractors and it also revealed that the governor shook hands and exchanged pleasantries with the positive case.
The Governor has not shown any symptom of the disease and has cancelled all his appointments with immediate effect.
The Governor has also confirmed to Controltv.ng that he has no symptoms and he is doing fine in self quarantine.
