Thirteen (13) members of the Imo state house of assembly has tested positive to the novel coronavirus Covid-19.
These new cases were confirmed barely six days after a lawmaker, whose identity was not released, tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the state.
This brings the total number of lawmakers in the state who are COVID-19 positive to 14.
Recall that The Imo State Taskforce Committee on COVID-19 yesterday announced the shutdown of the state House of Assembly complex following a COVID-19 scare.
Results of the test conducted on the lawmakers were announced on Tuesday by the Chairman of the State Task Force Team on COVID-19, Prof. Maurice Iwu.
