President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo have received a shot of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine at the presidential villa, Abuja.
President Buhari and VP, who received his COVID-19 vaccine shot on Live TV broadcast which was closely monitored by Control TV, urged Nigerians to emulate him and do the same in order to curb the pandemic in the most populous black nation.

Suhayb Sanusi Rafindadi, the president’s personal physician, administered the vaccine on Buhari, while the vice-president’s shot was administered by Nicolas Audiferren, his personal physician.
On Friday, Nigeria commenced its COVID-19 vaccination with frontline health workers in Abuja.
The first shot of the vaccine was given to Cyprian Ngong, a medical doctor at the National Hospital, Abuja.
Faisal Shuaib, chief executive officer of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), administered the dosage.
