The President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Saturday, congratulated the Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee on corruption Prof Itse Sagay, as he clocks 80 on Sunday.
Buhari’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, ‘President Buhari celebrates Prof Itse Sagay at 80’.
Adesina quoted the President as saying that Sagay’s integrity and commitment to transparency marked him out as a Nigerian of great character.
“You have always stood by this administration, particularly in our avowed commitment to fighting corruption, and this you do without fear or favour,” Buhari reportedly said.
“Prof Sagay, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, on basis of his academic works, was a high flyer, recording best academic performances in the university and bar examinations, which President Buhari urges the younger generation to emulate, and set as standards for themselves,” the statement added.
He wished the author of many books, including the epochal ‘The Nigerian Law of Contract’ good health, longer life, and further contributions to jurisprudence, even as he serves God and humanity.
Professor Sagay, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), clocks 80 on Sunday the 19th of December.
