The Nigerian Federal Government has approved the sum of N13.3bn for the take-off of community policing initiative across the country.
The approval is part of measures aimed at containing the security situation in the country.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, disclosed this on his Tweeter handle on Thursday the post was tittled “FG approves N13bn for take-off of community policing in Nigeria.”
He Tweeted:
“To drive his resolve to rejig the security architecture in the country & deliver a more effective policing, Mr. President has approved N13B for the take-off of Community Policing in the country.
“At today’s NEC meeting, VP asks Govs, SGF, Finance Minister & IGP to work out how the funds would be well utilized to ensure an effective implementation of Community Policing in Nigeria, and then report back to NEC.
“Specifically, the Govs would be represented at this consultations by the NGF chair & two others. There’s no relenting in securing our people,”
