A delivery truck has crushed and killed several pupils who were returning from school along Ogunusi Road, Grammar School bus stop, Lagos State.
An eyewitness told Control TV News that he saw corpses of at least 13 pupils lying in the pool of blood after the accident.
No official has confirmed this figure as at the time of this report.
It was learnt that the pupils were going home after closing time and wanted to cross the road when the truck ran over them.
The driver was reportedly chased to the Ogba area where he was arrested.
“I have never witnessed such a terrible scene in my life. I saw about 15 pupils lying lifeless on the floor. The incident occurred around 2 pm,” a commercial motorcyclist told our correspondent.

After the Riot broke out, Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Lagos Police Command, Adekunle Ajesebutu has instructed more police officers be deployed to the area in order to restore calm.
“We are on top of the situation. Adequate policemen are on ground to maintain law and order. The situation is being professionally handled,” he said.
