Suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa is currently in custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Peter Afunanya, spokesperson of the DSS revealed this in a statement late Wednesday.
Afunanya said Bawa was invited by the Services and that he arrived the DSS’ office few hours ago.
He said the suspended EFCC’s boss was invited in relation to some investigative activities concerning him.
The statement reads: “The Department of State Services (DSS) has invited Mr Abdulrasheed Bawa, the suspended Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Bawa arrived a few hours ago.
“The invitation relates to some investigative activities concerning him.”
Bawa was suspended by President Bola Tinubu indefinitely on Wednesday following weighty allegations of abuse of office.
In a statement by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the president ordered Bawa’s suspension to allow for proper investigation into his conduct while in office.
There have been many weighty allegations against the anti-corruption Czar, including an allegation by the former governor of Zamfara, Bello Matawalle.
He claimed that Bawa demanded $2million dollars from him and that he had the man on tape..
There have also been weighty allegations of abuse of office levelled against him.
Willie Bassey, Director of Information said Bawa has been directed to immediately handover the affairs of his office to the Director, Operations in the Commission.
The director will oversee the affairs of the Office of the Chairman of the Commission pending the conclusion of the investigation.
