There was a mild drama on the floor of the Imo State House of Assembly on Monday morning as lawmakers impeached the Speaker, Rt Hon. Paul Emeziem, over allegations of gross misconduct and abuse of office.

Control TV News learnt that the Speaker was reportedly impeached after 19 out of the 27 members of the Assembly nodded in approval for his impeachment and to be immediately replaced with Hon. Kennedy Ibe, the member representing Obowo State Constituency.
The impeachment exercise, which was carried out amidst tight security.
