Legendary Nigerian singer, songwriter and guitarist, Majekodunmi Fasheke (Majek Fashek) has passed on to greater glory.
The foremost singer’s manager, Omenka Uzoma confirmed his death today via his Instagram handle on.
“Today been having pressure calls, well it’s true that African No 1 Legendary ICON has gone to be with the Lord, His Maker”
“Let’s celebrate him, his achievements, and his family. Whatever decisions is made by his family, the public will be notified (sic),”he wrote.
Tributes have since been pouring in for the iconic reggae singer who made a huge name in the 1980s.
His “Send Down The Rain” is considered one of the finest songs by any Nigerian amongst many other evergreen songs he made during his lifetime.

The Singer had a running battle with alcohol and drugs to which he got concelling and became free of both induced social ills.
A recent social media post showed his advocacy for everyone to stay home and safe in the face of the ravaging covid 19 pandemic.
Majek Fashek’s ‘Prisoner of Conscience’ album had an international appeal that made him a household name in the world of reggae music.
