Over 100 individuals were apprehended by the Delta State Police Command for allegedly participating in a gay wedding ceremony at a hotel in Delta state.
The police made the announcement on their official X (formerly Twitter) account and stated that they would soon parade the suspects.
The arrest and public display of individuals believed to be homosexuals have been common since the enactment of the anti-gay law in 2014.
In a similar incident in December 2020, the Lagos State Police Command arrested ten individuals suspected of engaging in homosexual activities at a brothel in Okota.
But in 2018, the police in Lagos paraded 57 men for alleged homosexual activities at Kelly Ann hotel in Egbeda. Furthermore, in January 2022, eight individuals were arrested in a hotel in Isolo, Lagos for their alleged involvement in gay activities.
