A number of inmates have escaped from prison on Sapele Road in Benin City, Edo State capital after hoodlums stormed the facility on Monday morning.
The incident comes after reports that the #EndSARS protest against police brutality and extrajudicial killings had been hijacked by hoodlums.
Videos of inmates escaping through the fence have gone viral on social media.
