Former FIRS Boss Babatunde Fowler is being questioned by federal authorities over alleged N5 billion fraud.
Mr. Fowler, a long-time ally of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is currently being interrogated at the Lagos office of the EFCC.
Issues for the revenue generation agency boss turned south when President Buhari suspended the Chief in 2019 over gross misconduct and misappropriation of funds belonging to the Federal government.
Nine senior officials of the agency were detained by the EFCC over alleged multi-billion naira fraud in 2019.
Fowler was also accused of leading a lavish lifestyle, bankrolling extravagant parties and concerts in Lagos, poor corporate governance structures at the FIRS, poor audits, high handedness, diversion of funds, corruption and awarding contracts to cronies.
He has absolved himself if any wrong doing.
