Former Senate President, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu has emerged the consensus candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ahead of its October 31 national elective convention.
Recall that the meeting was adjourned to 11am today, after it suffered some setbacks on Wednesday, due to the absence of some critical members.

All five PDP governors from the north are in attendance as well as some other prominent party members from the north including some BOT members.
This committee is expected to Harmonize and trim down the numbers of candidates for all the allotted slots to the region, ahead of the October 30/31st convention.
Ayu’s emergence followed hours of continuous meetings by PDP stakeholders of Northern extraction in Abuja in the past 72 hours.
