The leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has announced the commencement of an indefinite strike.
The Union President, Anderson Ezeibe announced this at a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday morning.

According to him, the members of the union have vowed to shut down the Nigerian Polytechnics till the Federal Government meets their demands.
Recall that the FG on Monday invited officials of the Union to an emergency meeting over its proposed strike.
The strike action is coming despite the federal government’s move to avert the strike plan.
