Police authorities in Taraba State have confirmed a bomb blast at a drinking joint in Jalingo, the state capital.
A pattern seems to have also spring up according to the force who only a few hours earlier confirmed an attack in Takum LG Council where a man thought to be a driver was killed, while the burning of two pickup vans and cattle by armed bandits was recorded. A
Confirming the report on Monday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Abdullahi Usman, said the incident which occurred in Jika Doruwa, Jalingo metropolis took place Sunday night.
The police spokesman was unable to say precisely if more than one person was killed.
However, an anti-bomb squad of the command have been deployed to the area to ascertain the level of damages caused by the explosion, and that’s according to the police PPRO.
The explosion which reportedly occurred around 9pm, was said to have left several persons with various degrees of injuries, most of whom are undergoing treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Jalingo.
Eyewitness reports say people were at the Jika Joint and an explosion tore through where they mostly sat.
