Five people are reported to have been killed and several others injured in Membe Bayelsa state Today.
Members of the PDP who were rallying at the Nenbe strong hold of the APC pointed accusing fingers at the opposition APC in the state for the attack.
The PDP and its candidate Duoye Diri earlier raised alarm on Nembe saying it remains a constant flash point as recorded in past elections.
A chieftain of the PDP Ken Okolugbo overseeing the Bayelsa elections told Control TV that the massive crowd of PDP members and supporters at the campaign rally were dispersed by the sporadic shooting.
He said “we all scampered in different directions forcing a stampede which caught and hurt some of our members at the venue.
A Staff of Radio Bayelsa Simon Onu who drives the stations OB Van was reportedly shot dead in Nembe.
The PDP allege that the APC hoodlums sent by the leader of the Otita force have taken over Nembe LGA, killed several PDP supporters today.
