President Buhari has assured Governors of the All Progressive Congress APC that the dilemma rocking the party will be resolved soon.
Governor of Kebbi State,Atiku Bagudu and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum said Buhari disclosed this after he and some other APC Governors met him to discuss party issues and their position to support peaceful resolution of the crisis in the ruling party.
Governor Bagudu briefed State House reporters along with the Governor of Plateau Simon Lalong and also Governor of Jigawa Abubakar Badaru.
Governor Baguda said:
“The reason of our visit is to discuss with the president as our party leader and the leader that millions of Nigerians Trust, to discuss party issues and the position of the progressive Governors to support all step to unify and bring about peaceful resolution in our party the All Progressive Congress.
“Mr President listened attentively and discussed with us as a father, as a party leader he gave us all the assurance we needed to know that resolutions of contentious issues would soon be arrived at”.
This meeting came in after the crises in party (APC) exacerbated last week following the suspension of the party’s national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole and also the defection of Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State and Deputy Governor of Ondo Agboola Ajayi from the APC to the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
