The Federal Government has directed stock taking of all its agricultural assets across the country.
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Sabo Nanono made this know to newsmen during the 2019 monitoring and evaluation meeting held in Abuja Abuja Nations capital. He said he has been instructed to effect the documentations of agricultural assets out across the country by both state and zonal coordinators.
He sighted the continous underutilisation and unaccountability of several agricultural assests such as lands and buildings in the country.
He further urged the stakeholders involved to create ways in which projects can be adequately monitored and evaluated by the ministry in order to achieve better resuts in the 2020 capital projects
He also acknowledged the effort of the federal government in working hard to ensure the success of the ministry as he referred to the President’s 2020 state of the nations address on the 1st of January 2020 concerning livestock, mechanisation and extension services.
Also speaking, Dr Abdulkadir Mu’azu the permanent secretary to the ministry also urged the zonal and the headquarters in various states to work in unity to successfully implement the projects especially towards the agricultural activities and projects for 2019-2023.
He assured that the meeting will produce positive outcome from all the participants.
