Veteran Nigerian actress, Mercy Aigbe has left tongues wagging after publicly disclosing her conversion to Islam and revealing new Muslim name.

The 45-year-old during an interview following the success of the Ramadan lecture programme organized by herself and her husband, Kazim Adeoti known as Adekaz revealed her Muslim name.
During the interview, the Actress confirmed that she has indeed converted to Islam and reintroduced herself with her new name, “Meenah.”
“Inshallah my new name is now Hajia Meenah Mercy Adeoti,” the celebrity said in the dialogue.”
Mercy Aigbe’s statement had a lot of netizens cracking up. While some questioned how easy it was for her to convert to Islam without thinking of the possibility of breaking up, others reminisced about days she preached Christianity.
