The remaining 29 students of the College of Forestry Mechanisation Afaka in Kaduna state have finally regained freedom.
The Chairman of the forum of the abducted parents, Abdullahi Usman, confirmed their release to newsmen on Wednesday.

He explained that the victims were released some minutes past 4pm around the Kidanda area in Giwa Local Government Area of the state, and were on their way back to the state capital.
Usman, however, refused to disclose the amount paid as ransom to the bandits for the release of the students.
According to reports, the release was facilitated by the Sheikh Abubakar Gumi dialogue committee with support from former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
On March 11, 2021 bandits invaded the school located in Afaka along the Kaduna International Airport Road and abducted 39 students.After payment of ransom by parents and school management, the bandits only released 10 of the victims.

The abductors had initially demanded a N500 million ransom from the Kaduna State Government but Governor Nasir El-Rufai ruled out the option of negotiation, saying bandits deserve to be killed.
Recall that parents of the students had on Tuesday stormed the National Assembly in Abuja to protest the continued abduction of their children and government’s apparent indifference.
