Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Egwarewa Adeniyi Keyamo (SAN) has Denigrated the decision of some state selective committee of the 774,000 jobs initiative, as they are in prospect of employing only indigenes for their respective state.
The minister who took to his Twitter handle said the decision of the state selective committee is “unacceptable” as everyone in any Local Government of a state is qualified for the 774,000 jobs irrespective of their origin.
He tweeted:
“We understand some States’ Selection Committees are considering only indigenes for the 774,000 jobs. That’s unacceptable. Anyone who is resident in any LGA in the country, irrespective of tribe, is qualified. It’s one country in which we all live. The NDE coordinators should note”.

The 774,000 initiative has been a matter of controversy and melee in the country.
The controversy began when the National Assembly for a Senate committee hearing for the recruitment of 774,000 jobs, grilled the Director-General of the NDE, Nasiru Ladan, on how the N52 billion budgeted would be spent.
Reacting to this Festus Keyamo told the committee that his ministry was specifically asked not to share details of the NDE recruitments by President Buhari, This utterance Resulted into a melee between the Senators and Keyanmu.

Following the brawl at the hearing The Senator suspended the initiative. However, President Muhammadu Buhari gave a Nod to Minister Keyamo to proceed with the exercise against the position of the National assembly.
