The former Secretary of the Edo State Internal Revenue Board, Charity Aimayaevbo, has Confronted Governor Godwin Obaseki on his assertion that his government through “EdoJob” created 150,000 jobs back in 2016.
According to Aimayaevbo, Governor Obaseki in a meeting claimed that Edo jobs has made available 150,000 jobs but questioned why taxes hasn’t been captured in the system.
Labelling Obaseki’s claim as a radio job Mrs Aimayaevbo asked Governor Obaseki to publish names of some of the employees but there has been no response.
“When I was still in Edo Revenue Service Gov Obaseki called us for a meeting, he told us “Edojobs” has created over 150,000 jobs and queried why they were not captured in the Tax system,” Charity said.
“The next day we wrote to Edojobs to send us the names and companies that employed the 150,000 people to enable us Trace them for capturing, we waited over a month, no reply. We wrote a reminder, after 2 weeks, no reply. After three months we wrote another reminder, Just for me to get a call asking me if I am now an opposition.
“I challenge Gov Obasek, sorry Obaseki to publish the NAMES, phone numbers, & LGAs of the Beneficiaries of the Jobs and the companies that he created his audio jobs.”
