Popular Musician, D’banj has been cleared by the Nigerian Police for the alleged rape case which was filed against him by Miss Seyitan Babatayo.
Recall that Miss Babatayo alleged that Dbanj raped her on December 31, 2018, at Glee hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.
However The Oliver twist crooner denied raping the young lady and asked her for a public apology and N100millon compensation.
The matter later got twisted as The Inspector General of police responded to a petition written to him by Mr. Tommy Ojoge-Daniel, a lawyer to Miss Seyitan Babatayo, who accused D’Banj of raping Allegedly raping his client and denying claims.
However, in recent development, The police said their investigations found “no substantial evidence” to prove that Dbanj committed the offence. The police said investigations already carried out before Ms Seyitan Babatayo wrote to withdraw the case found no evidence against Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo (Dbanj).
Nigerian veteran journalist, Kemi Olunloyo also confirmed this as she took to her social media page to share details backing her investigation that D’banj has been cleared 100%
She wrote;
#BREAKING EXCLUSIVE
I was RIGHT all along. It cost me a lot of time, money, my health and sometimes integrity but I ONLY investigate the truth. #defendmediafreedom
Dbanj has been vindicated by @policeng of RAPING Seyitan. I will now detail findings of their investigation.
@PoliceNG cleared @iamdbanj 100% after fully carrying out an investigation and in parallel Ms Seyitan who pleaded and WITHDREW her petition. It is important to pay close attention to real rape accusations vs fake accusations so as to protect the innocent rape victims
Here are legal documents I obtained in the case and the recommendation of @policeng
I implore the Nigerian mainstream media to get more involved in investigative journalism especially RAPES. It is important to protect the innocently accused.

Kemi Olunloyo has also alleged that feminists Kiki Mordi and some notable celebrities pressured Seyitan to “prolong the accusation against Dbanj” to enable their NGO collect more money from donors.
Kemi Olunloyo wrote on Twitter: “I am a Feminist and I do go around screaming it. Stand to End Rape’s Ayodeji, Kiki Mordi, Chioma all pressured Seyitan to prolong the accusations on Dbanj because it will help their NGO collect more money. Sad day for them as they release another FAKE statement.”
