Rotimi Akeredolu, governor of Ondo state, has come out victorious as he clinched the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the October 10 gubernatorial election.
While announcing Akeredolu as the winner of the exercise, Yahaya Bello, governor of Kogi and chairman of the APC primary election committee, said he polled a total of 2,458 votes while Olusola Oke came second with 262 votes and Isaacs Kekemeke polled 19 votes, Over 3,127 delegates voted in the election.

Some of the aspirants had earlier opted for direct primary, Four of the 12 aspirants stepped down for Akeredolu. Others aspirants who partook in the election are Awodeyi Akinsehinwa, Bukola Adetula, Sola Iji, Jumoke Anifowoshe, and Olayide Adelami.
