Second Most Populous Country in the world India, has recorded 32,695 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 9,68,876.
union ministry of health and family welfare on July 16, Thursday said. The country at present has 3,31,146 active cases and 6,12,815 coronavirus patients have been cured/recovered.
Also, 606 deaths were reported over the past day taking the death toll to 24,915.
In its new instructions, the World Health Organization has advised countries to conduct 140 tests a day per million population.
With 865 labs in the government sector and 358 private labs, the total number of testing labs in the country is 1223.
Notably, Union Human Resource Development Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ e-launched the World’s most affordable RT-PCR based COVID-19 diagnostic kit developed by IIT Delhi on Wednesday. The kit has been developed indigenously and is much cheaper than other kits.
