Zindzi Mandela, daughter of former South African president and liberation hero Nelson Mandela and anti-apartheid activist Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, died in a hospital in Johannesburg.
Zindzi who was Nelson and Winnie Mandela’s youngest daughter, died early Monday morning at a Johannesburg hospital, according to a statement from the office of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
She had been South Africa’s ambassador to Denmark since 2015.
Ms Mandela leaves behind her husband Molapo and four children Zoleka, Zondwa, Bambatha and Zwelabo.
Her son Bambatha posted a tribute to his mother on Instagram, writing “Lala ngo xolo Madlomo”, which translates to “Sleep in peace Madam”.
