England’s Merseyside Police closed off roads near Anfield stadium last night as they tried to disperse thousands of Liverpool fans trying to enter the stadium in order to celebrate their team ending its 30-year drought of not winning the premier league titile.
Liverpool had stayed a three-month wait for glory amid the coronavirus pandemic, As were crowned champions on Thursday after Manchester City failed to beat Chelsea.
The police tried their best but the excitement of the fans were no match for them, within an hour of the result, thousands of fans flocked to Anfield to let off flares, chant and celebrate the title win, while ignoring social distancing measures.

About 6,000 fans managed to surround the stadium before police sealed off roads leading to it, though couldn’t break up the ongoing party.
police vans and uniformed officers were spotted at the scene as they tried to control the fans – though the celebrations were peaceful despite a lack of social distancing. A police helicopter was also seen circling the ground.
