Inspector-general of Police has order the probing of Singer, D’banj over the rape allegations levelled against him by Miss Seyitan Babatayo.
The issue of rape is seriously gaining momentum and ladies are seriously using it to present themselves, whether false or true, as victims of rape, with different motives.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu gave the order, following a petition written by Seyi’s lawyer.
This is contained in a letter with reference number CB.7000/IGP.SEC/ABJ/VOl.484/801 signed by the Principal Staff Officer to the IG, DCP Idowu Owohunwa.
The letter was addressed to the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Force Criminal Investigation Department, Area 10, Garki, Abuja.
The IG’s letter was in response to a petition written to the IG by Mr. Tommy Ojoge-Daniel, a lawyer to Miss Seyitan Babatayo, who accused D’Banj of raping her in 2018.
The letter written by the IG is titled, ‘Re: Petition Against (1) Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo (Aka D’Banj) for Rape Indecent Sexual Assault, Attempted Assault on Miss Seyitan Temidayo
Recall that Miss Babatayo alleged that Dbanj raped her on December 31, 2018, at Glee hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.
However The Oliver twist crooner denied raping the young lady and asked her for a public apology and N100millon compensation.
The matter took another turn on Wednesday, June 17 when Babatayo was reportedly arrested by policemen from Sodipo Command, Ikeja.
Her lawyer Olamide Omileye of Ojoge, Omileye, and Partners all over sovcial media alleged that she was forced to delete her tweets on the rape allegation while in police custody.
However singer Dban’j has been under intense scrutiny from the public after it was perceived that he was bulling Miss Seyitan Babatayo.
The truth of this saga remains unknown But one thing is sure, one party is guilty either for rape or for slander.
