Governor Of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has officially joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He made the announcement at the PDP State Secretariat in Edo State on Friday afternoon.
“I am here this afternoon to inform you that upon my resignation from APC, I have now decided, having consulted wisely within the state and across the country, to become a member of PDP,” Obaseki announced
He later took to his Twitter handle to affirm his decision to join PDP to advance his ambition for re-election.
His Post Reads:
“I have officially joined the @OfficialPDPNig to advance my ambition to seek re-election as Governor of Edo State,” the governor tweeted.
“I, as always, remain committed to engendering good governance and sustainable development of our dear state.”

The governor dumped the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) on Tuesday, June 16, after the party disqualified him from contesting for its ticket to participate in the September 19 Edo governorship election.
