The last may not have been heard about the rape controversy between D’Banj and Babatoye as Nigerians took to social media platform Twitter in a heated debate about the actions of the popular entertainer against Seyi Babatoye who accused him of raping her in a hotel in Lagos.
Seyitan’s lawyer, Ojoge, Omileye, confirmed her arrest in an interview on Tuesday, June 16th, in Lagos.
“They arrested Seyitan this morning in Lagos. They arrested our client but somebody is already there to facilitate her release on bail,” her lawyers revealed.
“This matter is coming to Abuja by tomorrow; we are petitioning. The Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) is taking up the petition tomorrow. That is all I can say about it for now,” they said.
Also Journalist, Kiki Mordi revealed yesterday june 17, 2020. that Seyitan is still detained in Sodipo police station, Ikeja, Lagos and hasn’t been granted access to friends, family or a lawyer.
In spite her arrest A tweet from Seyitan’s account was posted;
The tweet reads:
“I’m done with all these back and forth drama…Frank took me to the party and gave me the key to the room. I’m moving on and leaving everything behind me. Thanks and God bless
I don’t know where all this rumors are coming from . Myself and my mom were not and have not been arrested.”
Dbanj had earlier taken to his Instagram page where he demanded an open apology from the young lady with compensation of N100M For accusing him of rape. However some social media users affirmed that D’banj is trying to clear his name while others condemned and accused him of intimidation.
Few days After Seyi’s arreest all tweets from her Twitter account, including the rape accusations were deleted, Netizen’s across social media now believe that D’banj and his manager has Seyi in their custody and she’s been pressured to recant her statement.
Also some social media users believe seyi’s account is been handled by D,banj and his Manager, and that the singer is using his influence to intimidate her.
these claims came after recent tweet from Seyitan’s account showed promotions of D’banj’s Music and Plea for the allegations.
