Just as The Governor of Edo state Godwin Obaseki, Deputy governor Philip Shaibu, has also resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mr Philip Shaibu stated In a letter that his resignation was with immediate effect This letter came in June 15 and was addressed to the chairman of ward 11, Etsako west local government area of Edo state.
The Letter Reads:
“I write pursuant to Article 9.5 (i) of the Constitution of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to formally resign my Membership of the All Progressives Congress and to inform you of my formal withdrawal from all or any of its proceedings and processes whatsoever,” he said.
“Please note that this resignation takes immediate effect.”
Also in an announcement during a press briefing today deputy Governor Philip Shaibu announced that he was leaving the party with pain in his heart as he intend taking his political destiny to another level.
He stated:
“It is with pain that I am leaving the APC I helped to build. It’s very unfortunate that we have to resign from the party we all laboured for.
“The party we built with our blood, our strength. The party we believed that was built with progress of our land.
“I resigned today with pains and I am resigning to take my destiny in my hand. But by the grace of God, where Gov. Godwin Obaseki goes I go. And by the grace of God, we shall conquer,” he said.
