“Use Temporary Border Closure to Permanently Address Border Security” – Bish Johnson a former Captain in the United States Army Security has advised the Government.
Cpt. Johnson (Rtd US Army Cpt.) said border closure should extend beyond just checking importation of illegal goods and services to include also checking of proliferation of small arms, light weapons and ammunition in the country.
According to him, the closure presents an opportunity to maximize our comparative advantage on how best to permanently secure our borders to keep criminals, terrorists, bandits etc. out of the country.
Bishop Johnson in a statement made available to Control TV Today said temporarily shutting down the border without the much needed desire and action plan on how to permanently address border security cannot change anything in the long term.
“the federal government and the members of the national assembly should instead use this opportunity that has presented itself to comprehensively address border security and come up with permanent and lasting solutions to smuggling of illegal goods and services, illegal migrants crossings both in and out of the country and arms proliferation” he added.
