Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar has emphasized that terminal promotions within the military are reserved for officers who demonstrate exceptional contributions to the service’s advancement.
In a statement, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, noted that Air Marshal Abubakar made this declaration while promoting Air Vice Marshal Amos Bulus.
Abubakar highlighted that such promotions are more than ceremonial; they honor the significant dedication, challenges, and excellence that officers like Bulus have shown throughout their careers.
He praised Bulus for his pioneering work, including his role as the first Director of Information Technology in the Nigerian Air Force. Bulus’s initiatives, such as the establishment of an online recruitment platform and a paperless document management system, have notably improved NAF’s operations and set a benchmark for efficiency and transparency in recruitment processes.
