American rapper, singer,, record producer and also composer Kanye Omari West has pledged to take care of Gogre Floyd’s daughter “Giana Floyd” as he donates $2million for he tuition fee.
It’s been nearly 10 days since the May 25 death of Gentle Giant “Gorge Floyd” at the hand of a Minneapolis police officer, during which time massive protests against police violence have taken place across the country. But while tens of thousands have taken to the streets to express their anger at the systemic racism that has become rampant the United States.
Floyd leaves behind his six-year-old daughter, Gianna, with his ex-partner Roxie Washington. Gianna who recently appeared on tv in an interview told the presenter that she missed her dad.
Today Kanye has set up a college fund to cover tuition for Floyd’s 6-year-old daughter Gianna. This announcement came in via kanye’s representative
The rapper and fashion mogul has also donated $2 million (£1.6m) to various charities and funds in relation to the death of Floyd as well as those of Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery, who both recently lost their lives at the hands of white police officers and ex-police officers.
Shortly after the announcement, West joined protesters to march on Chicago’s South Side.
