Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has met President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja over circumstances that led to the killing of 16 soldiers in Okuoma community, Ughelli South council area of the state last week.
Governor Oborevwori, briefed State House, Correspondents after the meeting with President Tinubu, assuring them thatvthe situation had been brought under control
He said the perpetrators of the brutal murders of the officers and men of the Nigerian Army would be tracked down and brought to justice.
The governor, insisted there would be not be a repeat of attacks in the area, and expressed faith that the government would ensure that the innocent do not suffer for the offence committed by criminal elements.
The governor dismissed the casualty figures being touted but declined giving a number because there were security issues he could not say in the public
He didclosed meeting with the security heads in Bomadi on Monday but admitted he has been unable to meet with the community involved because the place of the incident is completely deserted.
Irate youths last Thursday murdered a lieutenant colonel, two majors, one captain, and 12 soldiers in Okuoma, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, on Thursday.
The deceased officers and soldiers were of 181 Amphibious Batallion in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta.
