Boxing Star Floyd Mayweather has offered to cover the funeral expenses for Gorge floyd, In his bid to help the family of George Floyd in these trial times, Floyd Mayweather has taken it upon himself to foot all the bills.
Mayweather’s promotional company confirmed this on their twitter handle that he [Mayweather] has made the offer and the family have accepted.
The boxing champion is set to pay $85,500 for floyd’s funeral; with a picture of the cheque which was posted online; Mayweather good fortune didn’t just start as he also paid for the funerals of Genaro Hernandez his former opponent and Legendary Joe Frazier in 2011.
Gorges death has prompted an outcry across the US and abroad, with numerous pro athletes and leagues speaking out, including NBA great Michael Jordan and 15-times major golf champion Tiger Woods.
Meanwhile, Steve Bisciotti, the owner of the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens, has also pledged $1m for social justice reform in the wake of Floyd’s death.
George Floyd’s funeral will be held in 3 states in America. North Carolina, Minneapolis and finally Houston where he originally came from.
The first service is scheduled to take place in Minneapolis on Thursday. The next service will take place in North Carolina on Saturday and finally, there will be a public viewing in Houston on Monday, June 8, followed by a funeral service on June 9.
